To achieve a sophisticated look, it is essential to choose the right product and know how to use it. We asked Steve Purcell, founder of Uppercut Deluxe, to style this cut, and the Slammed Down Side Part was born from there.
This iconic look has been worn by on-screen celebrities since the 1960s, from Sean Connery as James Bond to Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. If you have medium length hair and are not yet familiar with this style, now is the time to explore it.
Styling method: Slap the side part down
Follow these steps to achieve the perfect slam down side part.
Start with wet hair. Take a generous amount of Deluxe Pomade and rub it between your hands to thoroughly coat your hair from root to tip.
Define your role. Use the CB11 rake comb to create defined, defined part lines. This adds dimension and draws the eye to all of your hair.
Please comb it. Push down on your hair and gently comb outward from the parting to remove any loose hair.
Create some height. Using the CB11 Rake Comb, work the front of your hair back to create subtle waves. The ideal slam-down side part features a higher height at the front than at the rear.
What is deluxe pomade?
There's a reason Deluxe Pomade is our most popular product. I understand that “Slammed Down Side Part” isn't for everyone, but don't be fooled. This pomade's versatility extends beyond just tightening your back and sides. Whether your hair is long or short, thick or thin, curly or straight, this pomade will work for you. Simply apply to damp or dry hair and layer as desired.
