Dilovan Cindy burns another man at Newcastle barbershop in a horrifying revenge attack after being fired for allegations of stealing, leaving him so bad that he was left “half-man” as he burns another man.
Dilovan Cindy smokes gas barbershop with shocking attack
This is the moment when a spurred employee pours gas over the barber shop where he worked before torching himself in front of a frightening client, including a baby with his first haircut.
Dilovan Cindy marched in Newcastle in May 2023 to Amede's hair design and began sucking it in gasoline. Cindy then sets the lighter on fire and causes a fireball, swallowing him and one of the owners of the time.
After running into the street, the passing truck driver was able to extinguish Cindy with a fire extinguisher. He was burned to 85% of his body, while the other man suffered burns to 75%.
Among the barbers that day was a 15-month-old boy who sat on his father's lap and had his first haircut, the court heard. Thankfully, the infant was not physically injured, but the court heard that he might leave PTSD from the event.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that the fire bomb was a “revenge” attack following a dispute with the current and previous owners of Barber. Cindy, 40, previously worked in the store and believed he had financial interest in the business, but earlier that month he was fired after accusations he had been stealing.
Cindy, a native of Tyne & Ware in Washington, pleaded guilty to arson intended to endanger life, attempt to injure and cause severe physical harm. Prosecutor Chris Wood told the court that Cindy appeared on the day of questioning with Jerry Kang and began pouring the contents onto the floor saying, “Go out, go out.”
Wood said: The court heard that both the current and previous owners of the store were infused with gasoline.
The previous owner bravely tried to take the lighter from Cindy, but Wood fell on the floor and added, “there was a fire blast.” Previous people told the court in a moving statement that he felt “better to die” after he was now unable to work again and suffered serious burns.
He added: “I'm still alive, but I don't have a life. I'm half of my person. My brain and body will never recover from this.” The baby in the store was being taken to the hospital at the time, and thankfully neither he nor his father were seriously injured.
The young man had a “small song” in his hair, and the doctors were physically healthy when sooted around his nose and mouth. But he has since “stasised”, his hair thinning, restless in nursery, and night horror. His mother was told that his symptoms could be due to post-traumatic stress disorder.
Defending John Wilkinson said Cindy, who was put in a coma induced by a burn, still needs surgery and leaves behind lifelong scars and pain. Wilkinson told the court:
Wilkinson added that Cindy is not a “dangerous man,” but “he is a religious man and he is “a second chance to see what happened and sees the fact that he survived, and with the surprising situation he was in mind, with the fact that he is still in mind, with the fact that he is still in his mind.”
After jailing Cindy for seven years and two months, Judge Robert Adams said there was “evidently a revenge element” in the attack. Following the hearing, Northumbria Police Detective Inspector Rona Maressa, the officer in charge of the case, said, “Cindy's actions on May 23, 2023 were totally abominable, and he caused serious, life-changing injuries to one of the victims.
“Given the severity of the attacks that day, we are fortunate that we are not dealing with much worse consequences. We hope this case will make it public that we are constantly seeing violent offenders in our community, put them in front of the court and do everything we can to bring them to justice.”
