Another Seattle barbershop has been targeted by thieves, this time in Ballard.

Once again, individuals have acquired thousands of dollars worth of styling tools. The final victim is the singing barber.

“This is the second time this has happened, and it's been less than a year,” said owner and barber Domarkis Wigfall.

He said he was informed by a neighbor about 4 a.m. March 9 that his barber shop had been robbed.

“They noticed all the glass was broken,” he said.

Video shows someone covering the building around 3:30 a.m., then returning around 4:15 a.m. and throwing rocks at the front door.

The person walked through and walked away with thousands of dollars worth of styling tools.

“It's heartbreaking because I think this space is full of energy and kindness and love,” Wigfall said. “Seeing how it broke twice, I think if you had asked me for something, or clippers, or money, I probably would have given it to you.”

Wigfall's co-worker, stylist Ashley Schoenberger, also had her tools stolen.

“I lost my clippers, my trimmer, and two faders that were missing,” she said. “It meant I couldn't work on Saturdays. I had to turn away some customers because their tools were taken away.”

This is the third barbershop in the Seattle area to be targeted in the past two weeks.

FOX 13 previously reported on a series of break-ins that occurred on March 2nd.

The first incident happened at Supreme Cutz Barbershop in the University District.

“Make sure the cameras are wired. Make sure the doors are properly locked,” said owner and barber Isaiah Carson.

He said the thieves broke in through the front door and tried to steal the store's ATM, but it was bolted down.

“They couldn't stand it,” he said. “They stole about 10 sets of clippers, shavers, hair dryers and cash.”

About 30 minutes later, Hugo's Barbershop in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood was damaged.

Surveillance video showed the two men kicking in the back door and removing the store's ATM.

“I have no idea what they're after, but it's obviously an ATMS,” said owner Hugo Nunez. “They also took away our tools.”

In light of burglaries, stylists and barbers are taking inventory of their tools and storing them safely after work.

“It made me more alert,” Schoenberger said. “I'm making a note of where I put it.”

As for Wigfall, he said he has no plans to close his shop despite the recent break-ins.

“Small businesses are important to our community,” he said. “I don't know why people do things like this, but I'm invested in this place and the people we serve.”

Seattle police have not yet confirmed whether the three barbershop break-ins are related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Seattle Police at 206-625-5011.
