The pompadour is a classic haircut that can be traced back to 1680, but it was probably in the 1950s and 60s that this hairstyle took on its current form, especially on certain style icons like James Dean and Elvis Presley. This is probably because this haircut has been revived.

There is no more iconic style than the pompadour, and it looks just as beautiful today as it did then.

The pompadour fade is a classic barber haircut with a modern twist. Most barbers should know what a classic pompadour means, but it's always a good idea to take a few photos for inspiration.

To achieve a pompadour fade, ask your barber to add enough height and length to your fringe and then shorten the rest of the top towards the crown of your head.

You should also leave a bit of length in the corners (where the sides meet the top) so the hair can flow back, but keep it nice and tight so it blends into the fade.

Please choose the side length according to your preference. The haircut below is number 1 and falls towards the back of the head. This is a good length as it doesn't make the hair too harsh while still keeping elements of the classic look.

You can also add tapered lines around the neck and sideburns to create a clean and sharp look. Subtract this to 0 or 0.5 (see below).

First, create a round shape from the back using a blow dryer and a round brush. I haven't touched the fringe yet. Once everything is dry and shaped, switch to a flat bent brush and use this one. Fringe height and looseness.
