A man was taken to hospital after the group attacked him at a barber shop on High Street.

There was a major emergency response on Neuromney High Street after violence broke out shortly after noon.

Several police vehicles and ambulances were found in the area this afternoon.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to report that a man had been assaulted by a group of people at a business facility on Neuromney High Street at 12:20pm.

“Emergency services were present and the victim was taken to a local hospital with injured people that were not considered life-threatening.

“Officers remained at the site conducting inquiries and an investigation is underway.”

An emergency services spokesman said the paramedics dealt with the man on scene before being taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
