A modern twist on a controversial classic, this cut eliminates frizzy curls and lets your curls really stand out with a tight, controlled line.
If you want your curls to look neat and tidy, consider this style. Snap a photo and head to your hometown to get in shape. Now that mullet is back on the menu in earnest, barbers know exactly how to cut it to your liking. Pair it with a low taper or skin fade, or keep it simple. Remember that curls can be deceptive when trimming length. Long hair bounces back, so a light trim is often enough. For a tried-and-true mullet, leave some length at the top and back.
Once you're happy with the overall length and shape, a control cream will do the heavy lifting when it comes to styling. “Control creams add moisture, remove frizz, and help restore your curls to their natural shape. Unlike leaving on a traditional moisturizer, they won't weigh your curls down.” says Denny.
How to style an enhanced mullet
It's easy to pull off this style at home. Take a few pumps of control cream and spread evenly throughout damp hair. Use a diffuser to evenly distribute heat during blow drying. Activate a control cream to tighten and strengthen your curls. Finish by pinching individual sections with your fingertips until you achieve the desired result.
