We spoke to Uppercut Deluxe CEO Keira Purcell for a history lesson on the acclaimed “North” fragrance and its return with a new aftershave cologne.
“Our new aftershave cologne has an amazing backstory. Although brand new, the fragrance itself was originally hand-crafted by master perfumer Jonathan Midgley, who was early in Uppercut's journey. He has worked with some incredibly impressive brands with rare scents and a great nose for creating complimentary blends.
Jonathan was the epitome of a mad scientist! As soon as I entered his laboratory, I was greeted by a black cat with crystal green eyes. The walls were stacked floor to ceiling with amber bottles with paper labels on them. A hideaway in the middle of the city, hidden from prying eyes with an iron door. I couldn't have built something like this! We gave him full creative license to develop something truly unique. And how did she arrive at the cult-favorite fragrance “North”?
As you can imagine, we are very excited to have North fragrances back in the form of a new aftershave cologne for the first time in several years!” said Keira.
